Code U3036: Communication Authentication Signal Performance

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
U3036 is set on secured in-vehicle networks when a control module's security certificate or authentication key is missing, corrupted, or fails a handshake with another module -- the modules can still be electrically connected and transmitting, but the network layer rejects the traffic as unverified. This is almost always a programming or provisioning issue introduced by an aftermarket module, a botched reflash, or a module swapped without the required security relearn, rather than a wiring fault.

This is the first procedure in the authored consideration order, not a measured cause likelihood. Execute it only when its prerequisites and diagnostic findings support it. Its cost and labor estimates (where known), the step-by-step procedure and the remaining 2 procedure(s) are in the licensed dataset. Ordering context.
