Catalyst DPF Over Temperature

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
P200C (Particulate Filter Over Temperature Bank 1) latches when an exhaust gas temperature sensor ahead of or behind the aftertreatment catalyst or filter reports a reading above the thermal-damage threshold, almost always during an active regeneration event. An excess fuel dose commanded for regeneration, a partially clogged filter that concentrates heat during burn-off, and a failing temperature sensor reading falsely high are the typical root causes, and repeated events risk melting the substrate.

These 8 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 8 times.
