Catalyst PF Feedgas Performance
Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2BA4 (Catalyst Feedgas Performance) sets when the modeled or sensed exhaust gas composition entering the catalyst or particulate filter, known as the feedgas, does not match what the ECM expects for the current engine operating point, indicating the upstream combustion or fuel-control process feeding the aftertreatment device is off rather than the device itself. Common causes are an upstream fuel-trim or injector fault skewing exhaust composition, an exhaust leak upstream of the feedgas sensor diluting the sample, or a degraded upstream oxygen/wideband sensor.
These 2 diagnostic trouble codes share one
detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single
authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 2 times.
