Control Pilot Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0CF3 sets when the control module detects an implausible PWM duty cycle or voltage level on the control pilot (J1772) signal — the EVSE's available-current announcement does not match what the charging control module expects or can decode. The most common physical causes are a corroded or loose connection at the charge inlet's pilot pin, chafed low-voltage pilot wiring between the inlet and the charging control module, and an EVSE-side fault such as a failed pilot oscillator that is outside the vehicle but still reported through this circuit. Because the pilot signal is a 12V-referenced communication line, no HV lockout is needed to diagnose it.

These 7 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 7 times.
