EGR Auxiliary Valve Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
P213A (EGR Throttle Control Circuit B /Open) covers the control circuits for auxiliary EGR-system valves — a dedicated EGR throttle plate, a vacuum/pressure vent solenoid, or an EGR-C valve on multi-stage systems — that regulate exhaust gas recirculation flow or venting rather than the main EGR valve itself. An open or shorted driver circuit, exhaust soot binding the valve mechanically, and a stuck-open or stuck-closed valve are the failure modes the ECM distinguishes between.

These 15 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 15 times.
