Park Brake Sensor Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P05E3 (Park Brake Sensor/Switch Circuit) sets when the ECM/BCM detects an open, shorted, or implausible signal from the park (parking) brake applied-position sensor or switch. Causes are a maladjusted or worn switch at the park brake lever/pedal, a failed electric park brake actuator sensor, or chafed wiring under the console or at the rear caliper actuator.

These 5 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 5 times.
