PTO Shutdown Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P251D (PTO Engine Shutdown Circuit/Open) sets when the ECM sees an open, shorted, or out-of-range signal on the circuit used by PTO-driven equipment (such as a bucket truck or fire pump) to command an emergency engine shutdown when the equipment detects a fault. Causes are a corroded connector at the equipment interface, damaged wiring in the body-builder harness, or a fault in the auxiliary equipment's own controller.

These 3 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 3 times.
