Reverse Gear Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0801 (Reverse Inhibit Control Circuit/Open) sets when the TCM detects an open circuit, out-of-range voltage, or a performance fault on a circuit related to reverse gear engagement or the solenoid that inhibits reverse under certain conditions. Causes are a failed reverse-inhibit solenoid, a worn reverse switch/sensor, or damaged control wiring.

These 5 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 5 times.
