Code B0070 (Driver Seat Belt Pretensioner A Deployment Control) sets when the SRS module cannot verify correct igniter-circuit resistance for a pyrotechnic seat belt device -- a pretensioner that snugs the belt at the start of a crash, a load limiter stage that controls belt payout after the pretensioner fires, or an inflatable belt airbag chamber woven into the belt webbing. All three device types are triggered from the same low-energy squib circuit design as frontal and side airbags, so the diagnosis is identical: verify circuit resistance, look for a corroded seat-mounted connector, and check for a chafed harness where the seat belt retractor harness passes through the B-pillar or seat frame. Because these are one-time pyrotechnic actuators, the module disables that stage until the fault is corrected, and any suspect connector must be treated as a live squib circuit until the battery is disconnected.
