Injector Control Pressure Fault

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
P2288 (Injector Control Pressure Too High) applies to HEUI-type diesel injection, where a high-pressure oil pump generates the injection control pressure that actuates the injectors, and fires when that pressure is too high, too low, or erratic versus command. Low or erratic pressure most often traces to a worn high-pressure oil pump, a leaking injection pressure regulator (IPR) valve, or oil aerated by a low level or wrong viscosity; pressure too high points to an IPR stuck closed or its return path blocked by debris.

These 5 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 5 times.
